Yummy Yummy Yummy Shakes

This recipe is taken from the 2003 Milk Calendar. These 3 milk shakes are sure to please all kids – young and old alike.

Ingredients

  • Chocolate Caramel
  • 2 cups (500 mL) chocolate milk
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) ice cubes
  • 1 1/2 cups (375 mL) chocolate ice cream (2 scoops)
  • 1/4 cup (60 mL) caramel or butterscotch sauce
  • Strawberry Vanilla
  • 2 cups (500 mL) Milk
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) ice cubes
  • 1 1/2 cups (375 mL) vanilla ice cream (2 scoops)
  • 1 cup (250 mL) chopped strawberries frozen or fresh
  • 1/4 cup (60 mL) blueberries frozen or fresh (optional)
  • Iced Café Latté
  • 2 cups (500 mL) Milk
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) ice cubes
  • 1 1/2 cups (375 mL) vanilla ice cream or coffee ice cream
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) instant coffee or 3/4 cup (180 mL) cold strong coffee
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) vanilla extract

Preparation

In blender, combine milk, ice cubes, ice cream and desired flavouring; purée until smooth and frothy. Serve in a chilled glass.

Tips

Chill milk in the freezer for 10 min before making these shakes to keep them thick.
