Students learn about Canada’s Food Guide and the story of food using interactive teaching tools.
We’re excited to announce major updates to one of our most popular resources to teach Canada’s Food Guide! We’ve kept well-loved components and added some new features we think you and your students will enjoy.
Each free resource kit includes:
- 100 Food Picture Cards showcasing a variety of foods from Canada’s Food Guide, foods from beyond Canada’s Food Guide, and mixed dishes in both English and French
- three Canada’s Food Guide Study Prints showcasing a range of vegetables and fruit, whole grain foods and protein foods
- seven Food Origin Study Prints highlighting how foods are grown and produced in Canada
- a comprehensive Teacher Guide with curriculum-linked activities.
Additionally, we have developed pandemic-safe online learning activities for this resource. We have been listening. Teaching is definitely not “business as usual” this year, from limitations with sharing items in the classroom to distance learning options. That’s why we transformed five activities for Grades K-3 plus the Study Prints into slide decks, available in both English and French, that you can use with your students.
