Food Mission: Conquer the Galaxy of the 5 Senses is a tool that includes an educational poster and complementary materials. Early childhood educators are encouraged to use them to introduce young children to healthy eating in an exciting way.
A fun and educational tool!
On board a rocket ship, educators at early childhood education services can help children discover a variety of nutritious foods using their 5 senses. This new edition, entitled Food Mission: Conquer the Galaxy of the 5 Senses, supports the development of healthy eating habits through educational activities at early childhood settings.
On planet Touch-It-All, children will discover the textures of different foods, on planet Did-You‑See, colours and shapes, on planet It-Smells-Good, children will explore foods through their sense of smell, on Taste-Buds through taste, and on Listen-up, through the sounds certain foods make.
Also new this year—the poster doubles as a board game for children aged 4 and 5.
In addition to the poster, the leaflet features a variety of activities: stories, a nursery rhyme, a cooking activity, and educational activities. What’s more, pictures of foods and where they come from can be downloaded and printed.
