This free workshop is now available through distance training! The topics of feeding children ages 1 to 5 and educational practices to adopt at the table are discussed in order to promote the development of healthy eating behaviours in young children.

By the end, staff who work in early childhood settings will be equipped with practical information and ideas for concrete educational activities.

Who is eligible for this workshop

Anyone who works in early childhood education and care, including:

  • Educators
  • Home childcare providers
  • Pedagogical and technological support agents
  • Compliance agents
  • Menu planners/Cooks
  • Supervisors or managers

Please note that a copy of the activity book Les aventures de Pat le mille-pattes and pictures of foods and where they come from will be sent solely to the following participants: educators at early childcare centres, private daycares and stop-over centres, and educational home childcare providers. A participation certificate will also be sent by email.

  • Update your knowledge on feeding preschoolers
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the factors that influence the development of healthy eating habits in early childhood
  • Adopt a positive perspective of healthy eating
  • Consider how being a role model impacts healthy eating and body image
  • Familiarize yourself with the best practices for conducting educational activities related to healthy eating
  • Explore a variety of healthy eating educational tools, such as the activity book Les aventures de Pat le mille-pattes, which will be mailed to you after the workshop
