What is Papille?

Papille is a guide to feeding infants. It is for all the educational childcare services in Quebec that take care of infants from 0 to 24 months, whether in a childcare centre or in a home setting. 

What are its main objectives? 

  • Present objective and relevant content, supported by the latest scientific data on infant feeding
  • Promote an environment that supports healthy eating for infants in educational childcare services
  • Foster reflection on practices related to infant feeding
  • Propose structuring measures for managers
  • Answer common questions that educational childcare services have about infant feeding

What does this resource contain?

24 practical and comprehensive chapters divided into 6 sections: 

  1. Collaboration, partnership and obligations
  2. Development of children ages 0 to 24 months
  3. Breastfeeding and milks
  4. First foods
  5. Safety practices and food
  6. Meal organization

Many topics are covered, including: Choking, food-borne illnesses, allergies, food intolerances, BLW, reasonable accommodations, dishes and utensils that promote infant autonomy, positions to adopt to avoid injuries during meals and snacks, and much more!
