Pierre Lampron Re-elected as President of Dairy Farmers of Canada

Dairy farmers from across Canada re-elected Pierre Lampron as president of their national association during the Dairy Farmers of Canada (DFC) 2019 Annual General Meeting (AGM), July 16-17, in Saskatoon. Mr. Lampron was re-elected for a two-year term, ending in July 2021.

“It is an honour for me to continue to represent you. Despite the many challenges we have faced in the last two years, we have managed to move a number of issues forward and, as a result, we have achieved significant success,” declared Pierre Lampron following his election. “We have made progress because we have spoken with one voice. We have shown that our industry is united and that nothing can divide us. I intend to continue down this path and to ensure that our collective actions always have as their primary objective to defend the interests of all dairy producers from across Canada.”

The AGM also served as an opportunity for dairy farmers to discuss how to collectively address issues affecting the future of the dairy industry. The program included sessions on the state of the global dairy industry, challenges and opportunities along the entire Canadian dairy value chain, and the Blue Cow logo initiative. In addition, three announcements were made during this year’s AGM:

The 2020 Annual General Meeting will be held in Nova Scotia.
