Dairy Farmers of Canada announces the departure of its CEO, Jacques Lefebvre.

April 24, 2025, Ottawa (ON) – It is with much regret that we announce that Jacques Lefebvre will be leaving Dairy Farmers of Canada effective today.

Mr. Lefebvre has led this organization for the past seven years and his contributions have been many.  The dairy industry has experienced much change during this time and he has lent his talent and leadership to strengthening and advocating on behalf of our members. His advocacy and strong relationships across many sectors and at all levels has allowed us to ensure that our collective voice is valued, that our initiatives have been successful and that Canadians’ support of supply management remains resolute. 

Jacques has played a significant role in dairy having held leadership roles within both the processor and producer organizations.  For well over a decade, his knowledge and passion for this industry has been evident and highly regarded. His presence will be missed.

While the Board of Directors moves forward, effective immediately, Lucie Bérubé has been appointed as Interim Chief Executive Officer.  Ms. Bérubé will oversee the continuity of both vision and operational execution. Holder of an MBA, she has been working in the dairy sector for over 15 years, for both producers and processors. She has been a consistent contributor to DFC over the past eight years. She held various roles ranging from Assistant Director for Nutrition Quebec, Interim Director of Marketing and currently serves as Chief Operation Officer and leads Business Development for DFC. The Board of Directors has full confidence in Ms. Bérubé to lead us through this period of change.
