Preparation
In a small pot, heat water over high heat. Once the water is boiling, add the noodles and boil for 1 ½ minutes. Drain the noodles.
Add the Canadian milk and Canadian butter to the same pot and bring to a light simmer over medium heat. Watch carefully to ensure milk does not burn. Add the sauce packet. Stir until combined, then add in the noodles.
Create a well in the noodles and crack the egg into it. Sprinkle the chopped green onions on top. Allow this to cook for 2 minutes, then turn off the heat.
Use a spoon to scoop up the poached egg and then pour the noodles and broth into a bowl. Place the poached egg on top. Optionally, sprinkle with green onion, sesame seeds, and drizzle with chili oil.
Serve and enjoy!
Tips
- Feel free to choose any brand of instant ramen for this recipe, although those with a distinct spice packet (as opposed to cup noodles) tend to yield the best results.
- Keep in mind the brief cooking time of 1 ½ minutes for the ramen noodles in boiling water. Prolonged exposure could result in the noodles becoming overcooked when combined with the milk.
- For added variety, consider adding additional vegetables. Sautéed onions and mushrooms are popular choices among many individuals.
