Lunar New Year Egg Tarts
Every lunar new year my mom asks me to make these egg tarts! Let me show you this incredibly simple recipe.
- Cooking: 25 - 30 minutes
Ingredients
- 2 egg yolks
- ½ cup (125 ml) Canadian milk
- ⅔ cup (160 ml) Canadian cooking cream
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) sugar
- 1 ½ tbsp (22.5 ml) Canadian sweetened condensed milk
- 10 frozen egg tart shells
- 1 bag of red bean paste (optional)

Preparation
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C)
Mix the egg yolk and sugar.
Add in the milk and cream together and continue mixing.
Add in the condensed milk.
(Optional) Squeeze a coin size of red bean paste in the egg tart shells.
Pour the mixture into the egg tart shells, about ¾ full.
Let it sit for 5 minutes to eliminate any air bubbles.
Bake for 25-30 minutes.
Chill for 5-10 minutes, and enjoy!
