2024 proAction and Sustainability Progress Report

The 2024 proAction and Sustainability Progress Report provides an update on proAction activities, the value of proAction, new communication tools, and module highlights, such as the work to incorporate the Code of Practice for the Care and Handling of Dairy Cattle into the Animal Care module. The report also celebrates the first time a Dairy Farmers of Canada (DFC) marketing campaign directly communicated the proAction program to consumers.

The 2024 report also provides an overview of sustainability progress within the dairy sector. Highlights include the impact of various partnerships on dairy farms and the environment, an overview of an on-farm pilot testing a greenhouse gas calculator for individual farms, a business model project to support on-farm best management practices adoption, and the results of the most recent Life Cycle Assessment.

Other topics include Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza, research and innovation, and the Canadian Dairy Hub, an initiative increasing national knowledge transfer in dairy production to farmers.

On behalf of the proAction Committee, the Sustainability Committee, and Canada's dairy farmers, DFC would like to thank everyone – including farmers, experts, researchers and industry partners – who has contributed to the shared successes in the last year.
