All farms use the RFID technology to identify each animal, and to trace their movement from one farm to another, when this happens. This traceability is done to rapidly control any health issues, should one be reported. Some farms also add cool technology to help keep track of their herd, like bluetooth. These cows have health trackers on their collars or pedometers to track their daily movement and rumination. If a cow doesn’t seem to be herself, their tracker sends an alarm to the farmer’s smartphone to check up on them.
