Preparation

Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a sheet pan with parchment paper.

Place thawed puff pastry on a flat surface or putting board. Use a rolling pin to slightly roll out each sheet (this helps get rid of the creases when you unroll them).

Cut each sheet into 4 rectangles (slightly bigger than the apple slices).

Drizzle hot honey in four spots (about 1-inch or 2.5cm) on the prepared sheet pan. Arrange the sliced apples on top of the honey.

Place the sliced Canadian brie cheese on top of the apples.

Lay the puff pastry sheet on top of the apple and brie filling, making sure to press the corners of the pastry down gently onto the parchment with a fork to seal everything (this is to minimize leaks).

In a small bowl, beat together egg and 100% Canadian milk.

Brush the top of the puff pastry with the egg wash to create a shiny, golden crust.

Bake the tart in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the puff pastry turns golden brown and puffs up.

Once baked, remove the tart from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.

Serve warm and enjoy!

Tips

  • The cooking time may vary slightly depending on your oven, so keep an eye on the tart to ensure it doesn't overcook or burn.
  • Feel free to swap out the fillings with anything you’d like!
  • Crisp apples such as Fuji, Honeycrisp Gala or Granny Smith apples work the best for this dish
  • Serve with Canadian ice cream!
