Ingredients

  • 1 bread loaf
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) Canadian butter
  • 1 to 2 cloves of chopped garlic
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) chicken broth
  • 2/3 lb (300 g) shredded Canadian Cheddar
  • 1/2 lb (225 g) shredded Canadian Monterey Jack with jalapeños
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) chili powder
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons (22 ml) cornstarch

Preparation

Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).

Cut and hollow out your bread loaf. Set aside your bread.

Melt butter in a fondue pot over medium heat and cook garlic for 2 minutes.

Add chicken broth to the pot and bring to a boil.

Mix grated cheeses, spices, and cornstarch. Gradually incorporate the mixture into the pot, stirring constantly until melted.

Pour the fondue into the bread loaf. Wrap it in aluminum foil and place it in the oven for 20 to 25 minutes.
