Mediterranean Pasta Pie
This is the Mediterranean Pasta Pie recipe.

Ingredients
- 12 1/2 oz (375 g) elbow macaroni
- 1 1/2 cups (375 mL) 35 % cream
- 3/4 cup (180 mL) shredded Canadian Mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) grated Canadian Parmesan cheese
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp (5 mL) salt
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) butter
- 1 onion finely chopped
- 1 lb (450 g) lean ground beef
- 1 tomato chopped
- 1 tsp (5 mL) dried oregano
- 1 tsp (5 mL) ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp (5 mL) pepper
- 1/2 tsp (2 mL) salt
- 2 tbsp (30 mL) bread crumbs
- Topping
- 2 tbsp (30 mL) grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp (30 mL) bread crumbs

Preparation
Cook macaroni in large pot of boiling salted water until tender. Drain and rinse in cold water.
Mix together cream, cheeses, eggs and salt. Stir in macaroni. Set aside.
Melt butter in saucepan, cook onion until softened. Add meat and cook 5 min until no longer pink. Add tomato, oregano, cinnamon, pepper and salt. Cover and simmer for 5 min. Stir in breadcrumbs.
Spoon half of the macaroni mixture into 12 cups (3 L) baking dish. Spoon meat mixture over macaroni mixture. Top with remaining macaroni mixture.
Topping:
Mix together cheese and bread crumbs and sprinkle over macaroni. Bake in preheated 350 °F (180 °C) oven for 15 to 20 min or until lightly browned.
