Preparation
Preheat your oven to 325°F.
In a large bowl, gently mix the peanut butter, milk, and egg together.
Add the flour, oats, baking powder and chopped bacon and continue mixing.
Add a little milk if the dough is too dry, or flour if it’s too wet. Eventually you’ll find the right balance.
Place the mixture onto a floured work surface and use your hands to work the dough and then roll it out to your preferred thickness.
Cut the mix with a cookie cutter (choose the shapes of your choice!) and place it all on a cookie sheet.
Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until very lightly browned on the bottom. Remove from the oven, and flip the treats to bake the other side for 10-12 more minutes.
Allow to cool completely before serving to your pup.
Cover and store leftovers at room temperature for up to 1 week or in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Tips
Make sure to follow your veterinarian’s recommendations when feeding your pets new treats.
This recipe is prepared as a treat and should not constitute your pet’s main food source.
For the peanut butter, make sure it’s natural and free of xylitol as it’s toxic to dogs.
You can substitute the non-fat milk with lactose-free milk.
You can also freeze your leftover treats in an airtight container for up to 2 months.
