Quick Cornmeal Apple Crisp

Ingredients
- 6 to 8 choice of apples peeled, trimmed and sliced
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) brown sugar
- 1 cup (250 mL) all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup (160 mL) cornmeal
- 2 tbsp (30 mL) sugar
- 2 tsp (10 mL) baking powder
- 1/3 cup + 1 tbsp (100 mL) softened butter
- 2/3 cup (160 mL) Milk

Preparation
Preheat oven to 375 °F (190 °C).
Arrange apples in buttered 9-in (23 cm) square cake pan. Sprinkle with brown sugar and mix gently. Set aside.
In bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, sugar and baking powder. Cut in butter with fork or pastry blender. Gradually stir in milk. Pour mixture over apples. Bake for 30 minutes. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving and garnish with whipped cream.
