DFC reaction to CDC announcement

Canadian Dairy Commission (CDC) decision to increase the support price by $2.00 per hectolitre, beginning on September 1st, 2016.

Dairy Farmers of Canada (DFC) is pleased with the CDC decision regarding the increase of the support price. Beginning on September 1st, 2016, a 2.76% adjustment will be applied to the industrial milk price. This is equivalent to an increase of $2.00 per standard hectolitre.

It is important to remember that currently, less than 30% of farmers are able to cover their COP. This decision will help Canadian dairy farmers.
