New Year's Banana Bread
This is the New Year's Banana Bread recipe.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) softened butter
- 2/3 cup (160 mL) sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp (5 mL) vanilla extract
- 1 1/3 cup (330 mL) mashed ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) sour cream
- 1 3/4 cups (430 mL) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp (5 mL) baking powder
- 1 tsp (5 mL) baking soda
- A pinch of salt
- 1 cup (250 mL) chopped nuts

Preparation
Preheat oven to 350 °F (180 °C).
In large bowl, cream butter with sugar. Beat in egg and vanilla extract. Add bananas and sour cream. Mix well.
In separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder and baking soda. Transfer content into first bowl and mix together. Stir in nuts.
Pour mixture into a buttered 9 x 5-inch (23 x 13 cm) loaf pan and bake for 45 to 50 minutes or until toothpick inserted in centre comes out clean. Slice and serve hot or cold.
