Ingredients

  • 8 oz (225 g) Canadian Brie Double Crème* cheese
  • 1/3 cup (80 mL) all-purpose flour
  • 4 egg whites
  • 1 cup (250 mL) Italian bread crumbs or regular bread crumbs

Preparation

Remove rind from cheese and cut it in small 1/2-in (1 cm) cubes. Roll cubes in flour, then in egg white, then in bread crumbs. Place in freezer for 30 minutes before frying.

Deep fry for about 1 minute and place on absorbent paper. Serve hot, as appetizers or entrées, on a bed of lettuce leaves.

*You can also try another similar soft cheese like Canadian Camembert.
