Preparation
In large bowl, combine chicken, 1/2 cup (125 mL) of the milk, breadcrumbs, garlic salt and egg. Mix well and shape into 6 patties.
In large frypan, melt a little butter. Sauté patties on both sides until golden, adding more butter to pan as needed. Remove patties and set aside.
Melt a little more butter in same frypan; sauté onion until tender. Blend in paprika and broth mix; stir in water. Return patties to pan. Bring mixture to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 10 minutes or until patties are cooked. Remove patties from pan and keep warm.
Gradually stir remaining 1 cup (250 mL) milk into flour until smooth; add to pan. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture boils and thickens. Remove from heat and stir in sour cream. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Pour sauce over patties and serve.
Tips
Paprika is a common seasoning in Hungarian dishes. You can either use the mild supermarket variety, or for spicier patties, use hot Hungarian paprika, available at specialty stores.
