Paprika Chicken Patty Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs (675 g) ground chicken or turkey
  • 1 1/2 cups (375 mL) Milk
  • 2/3 cup (160 mL) dry bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) garlic salt
  • 1 egg
  • Butter
  • 1 cup (250 mL) chopped onion
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) paprika
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (125 mg) sour cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • A few pinches of paprika

Preparation

Combine chicken, 1/2 cup (125 mL) of the milk, bread crumbs, garlic salt and egg in large bowl. Mix well. With floured hands, shape into 6 patties.

Melt a small amount of butter in large skillet. Sauté patties on both sides until golden, adding more butter to pan as needed. Remove patties; set aside.

Melt a little more butter in same skillet; sauté onions until golden. Blend in paprika and chicken broth. Return patties to pan. Bring mixture to boil. Cover; reduce heat and simmer 10 min or until patties and onions are cooked. Remove patties from pan; keep warm.

Smoothly combine flour and remaining milk; stir into pan. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture boils and thickens. Remove from heat; stir in sour cream. Add salt and pepper to taste. To serve, pour sauce over patties and sprinkle with paprika.
