Preparation
In a small bowl, use a hand mixer to whip together the Canadian cream cheese, Canadian Greek yogurt, and honey or maple syrup until well combined. This will be your frosting.
Slice the top and bottom off each apple and place in the compost. Then, slice the apples into 1/2-inch thick circles. Use a cookie cutter, small melon baller, or a bottle cap to cut a hole in the center of each slice, creating a "donut" shape. Repeat for all apples.
Spread the cream cheese yogurt frosting on each of the apple donut slices, covering the surface evenly.
If desired, sprinkle the frosted apple donuts with your choice of sprinkles, fruit, crushed chocolate cookies, or any other toppings you desire.
Serve the apple donut slices immediately and enjoy!
Tips
- Honeycrisp apples are recommended for their sweet and crisp texture, but Granny Smith apples can also be a great choice for a tart flavor.
- Feel free to get creative with your toppings! Experiment with different combinations of toppings for added flavor and texture.
- You can add any food coloring to the cream cheese yogurt icing for a pop of colour.
