Lemon Chili Cottage Cheese Toast
This quick and easy, cottage cheese toast has hints of lemon, chili, and basil. Enjoy this delicious recipe at breakfast, lunch, or as a snack!

Ingredients
- 1 slice of sourdough bread (whole wheat or your preferred type)
- ¼ cup (60 ml) Canadian cottage cheese
- Zest of ½ a lemon
- ½ tbsp (7.5 ml) lemon juice
- ¼ tsp (1 ml) chili flakes (adjust to taste)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Top with:
- Chili oil, for drizzling (optional)
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)

Preparation
Toast the bread slice until it is golden brown and crispy. You can use a toaster or toast it in a preheated oven at 375°F for about 5-7 minutes. Set aside.
Generously spread the cottage cheese onto the toasted bread slice, covering the surface evenly.
Top the cottage cheese with lemon zest, lemon juice, chili flakes, salt, and pepper.
Drizzle the desired amount of chili oil over the cottage cheese toast, and garnish with fresh basil leaves, if desired.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
