Almond & Rose Kheer
Experience the rich delight of Almond & Rose Kheer, a Canadian twist on a classic recipe. Made with 100% Canadian whole milk, this creamy dessert features short grain rice and chopped almonds. Infused with the essence of rose water and garnished with dried rose petals.

Ingredients
- 1L (4 cups) whole Canadian milk (3.25%)
- 60 g. short grain rice
- 60 g. sugar
- 3-4 drops rose water
- ¾ cup (180 ml) almonds (chopped)
- 25 g. almond slivers
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) dried rose petals for garnish

Preparation
Rinse the rice thoroughly in cold water and soak for 20 minutes.
In a heavy bottomed pan, bring the milk to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until milk thickens and reduces to half. Stir occasionally.
Add soaked rice after draining the water. Cook on low heat until rice is well cooked.
Add chopped almonds and cook for further 15 minutes on low heat till the kheer is thick and creamy.
Add sugar and cook for a few minutes.
Set aside to cool at room temperature. Once cooled add rose water, mix and refrigerate.
Heat oven to 350 F (180 C) and roast some almond slivers 5 mins or until golden brown. F
Garnish with roasted almond slivers and dried rose petals before serving.
