Baked Lobster with Canadian Cheese

It is Year of the Dragon, and it’s calling for lobsters, which is called “Dragon Shrimp” in Chinese. Here’s my secret recipe to making a great-tasting grilled lobster with cheese! #lunarnewyear2024

Yields 1 lobster
Baked Lobster au gratin

Ingredients

  • Per person
  • 1 pound fresh lobster
  • 1 Tbsp (15 ml) Canadian butter
  • 1.5 tsp (7.5 ml) minced garlic
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) mirin
  • I Tbsp (15 ml) chopped parsley
  • 2 Tbsp (30 ml) shredded Canadian mozzarella cheese
  • 2 Tbsp (30 ml) grated Canadian aged cheddar cheese
  • 1 Tbsp (15 ml) breadcrumbs
  • Salt & Pepper

Preparation

Blanch lobster for 2 minutes. Cut in 2 length wise to butterfly.

Sauté garlic in Canadian butter until aromatic. Turn off heat and add mirin and parsley.

Drizzle the garlic butter into the butterflied lobster.

Shred/grate the Canadian cheeses and sprinkle onto the lobster.

Sprinkle breadcrumbs and season with salt and pepper.

Bake in a pre-heated oven at 425F for 12-15 mins until cheese melts and breadcrumbs are golden.

Serve immediately.
