Butterscotch Sauce

A magical and rich homemade butterscotch sauce to drizzle over your favourite desserts from ice cream to shortbread cookies.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup (80 mL) butter
  • 1 cup (250 mL) lightly packed brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup (160 mL) 35 % cream
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) corn syrup

Preparation

Start by melting butter in a saucepan and then toss in brown sugar, cream and corn syrup. Stir constantly over low heat until mixture comes to a full boil.
