Crumble with Ice Cream and Caramelized Apples
This crumble has all the great taste and texture of an apple pie.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) butter
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) sugar
- 4 Empire apples or Cortland peeled, the heart removed and diced
- 1/2 tsp (3 mL) ground cinnamon
- A pinch of ground nutmeg
- A pinch of fleur de sel
- 8 cups (2 L) of vanilla ice cream
- 1 cup (250 mL) of muesli or granola

Preparation
Melt butter in a pan, add the sugar and caramelize until golden caramel color.
Add diced apples, cinnamon, nutmeg and cook for about 5 minutes. Add salt. Spread apple mixture in bottom of a glass serving bowl. Add ice cream using an ice cream scoop. Sprinkle with granola. Freeze 2 to 3 hours.
Remove from freezer and serve.
Note: Replace the granola with toasted almonds or walnuts.
