This is the Favourite Brownies recipe.

- 3/4 cup (180 mL) all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup (80 mL) cocoa powder
- 1/4 tsp (1 mL) salt
- 1 cup (250 mL) sugar
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) melted butter
- 2 eggs
- 3 tbsp (45 mL) water
- 1 tsp (5 mL) vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) chopped walnuts

Butter an 8-inch (20 cm) square cake pan.
Stir together flour, cocoa powder, salt and sugar. Add butter, eggs, water and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth. Stir in 1/2 cup chopped nuts.
Bake for about 25 minutes at 325 °F (160 °C) and cut into squares when cool. So simple!
For gifts, arrange them in covered glass butter dishes and tie up with ribbon. Brownies will keep for several days, but only if you hide them!
