Jelly and Chocolate Chip Bites

Ingredients
- 2/3 cup (160 mL) sugar
- 1/3 cup (80 mL) packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) butter
- 2/3 cup (160 mL) creamy peanut butter
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 tsp (2 mL) vanilla extract
- 2 cups (500 mL) all-purpose flour
- of salt
- 1/2 tsp (2 mL) baking soda
- Sugar
- Chocolate chips
- 1/3 cup (80 mL) choice of fruit jelly

Preparation
Preheat oven to 375 °F (190 °C).
In large bowl, beat sugar, brown sugar, butter, peanut butter, egg and vanilla with electric mixer. Gradually beat in flour, salt and baking soda. Beat well until smooth.
Shape mixture into 1-inch (2.5 cm) balls. Dust balls with sugar and place 2 inches apart on a buttered cookie sheet. Bake for 12 minutes.
Remove balls from oven and immediately press 4 to 6 chocolate chips into centre of each one. Remove balls from pan. Gently spoon a little fruit jelly on each ball. Let cool.
