Kira’s EXTRAordinary Stuffing recipe

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup (60 ml) Canadian unsalted butter
  • 2 cups (500 ml) 2% Canadian milk
  • 1 artisan loaf of choice
  • 2 boxes of store-bought stuffing mix
  • 5-6 mild Italian sausages
  • 1 leek

Preparation

Clean and chop the leek. Set aside.

Remove casing from sausages. In a frying pan on medium heat, sauté sausage meat and the chopped leek.

Dice half an artisan loaf into large cubes. Mix two boxes of store-bought stuffing mix and your larger bread cubes in a bowl.

Once sausage meat is cooked through, reduce heat to a simmer. Pour two cups of milk into the pan. Add 1/4 cup of butter. Melt.

Pour milky sausage mixture into the bread bowl. Mix!

Add to an oven safe casserole dish. Bake at 425 F for approximately 25 minutes or until it gets golden brown on top. Serve hot!
