Kira’s EXTRAordinary Stuffing recipe

Have you ever noticed how there’s never enough stuffing to go around? This Christmas dinner recipe is an invitation to correct course, and make stuffing the star of the show instead! If you’re looking for last-minute ideas for Christmas dinner that your family will remember (and maybe ask you to bring over every year from now on), don’t look further: a full casserole of savoury extra stuffing will do the trick.
Kira’s secret to make this the best stuffing recipe ever? Adding Canadian milk and butter, of course! You have to try her festive family favourite: we bet every guest sharing your Christmas meal will ask for another helping of her EXTRAordinary stuffing.

Ingredients
- ¼ cup (60 ml) Canadian unsalted butter
- 2 cups (500 ml) 2% Canadian milk
- 1 artisan loaf of choice
- 2 boxes of store-bought stuffing mix
- 5-6 mild Italian sausages
- 1 leek

Preparation
Clean and chop the leek. Set aside.
Remove casing from sausages. In a frying pan on medium heat, sauté sausage meat and the chopped leek.
Dice half an artisan loaf into large cubes. Mix two boxes of store-bought stuffing mix and your larger bread cubes in a bowl.
Once sausage meat is cooked through, reduce heat to a simmer. Pour two cups of milk into the pan. Add 1/4 cup of butter. Melt.
Pour milky sausage mixture into the bread bowl. Mix!
Add to an oven safe casserole dish. Bake at 425 F for approximately 25 minutes or until it gets golden brown on top. Serve hot!
