Veal & Sun-Dried Tomato Burgers with Havarti

Ingredients
- 1 lb (450 g) lean ground veal
- 1 medium onion finely chopped
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) chopped, well drained sun-dried tomatoes in oil
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) tomato sauce
- 2 tbsp (30 mL) soy sauce
- 2 garlic cloves finely chopped
- 2 tbsp (30 mL) chopped fresh basil or fresh coriander
- 5 oz (150 g) Canadian Havarti with tomato & basil or Canadian Havarti with jalapeños cut into 5 slices
- 5 hamburger buns split, toasted
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) hot sauce
- 3 tbsp (45 mL) ketchup
- 5 slices lettuce leaf

Preparation
Combine veal, onion, sun-dried tomatoes, tomato sauce, soy sauce, garlic and basil in a large bowl and mix well. Shape mixture into five patties 1/2-inch (12 mm) thick.
Place patties on preheated grill of the BBQ. Cook with lid closed over medium heat for 8 to 10 minutes or until no pink remains, turning once halfway through. Top each patty with 1 slice of Canadian Havarti during the last minute of grilling.
Combine hot sauce and ketchup in a small bowl. Place patties on lettuce-lined buns. Serve with hot sauce mixture.
Tips
Variation:Replace veal with lean ground turkey and serve in pita pockets warmed on the grill.
For a change of taste, use Canadian Monterey Jack, Gouda or Brie.
