Open-Faced BLT Sandwiches

Ingredients
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) butter
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) flour
- 1/4 tsp (1 mL) Worcestershire sauce
- 3/4 cup (180 mL) Milk
- 1 cup (250 mL) shredded Canadian Cheddar* cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Leaf lettuce
- 12 tomato slices
- 12 slices side bacon cooked
- 6 slices French bread toasted and buttered

Preparation
In small saucepan, melt butter. Blend in flour and Worcestershire sauce. Gradually stir in milk.
Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture boils and thickens; remove from heat. Add Canadian Cheddar cheese and stir until cheese is melted. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
For each serving, place lettuce, two slices of tomato and two slices of bacon on each piece of bread; top with the cheese sauce.
Tips
You can use split, toasted and buttered English muffins instead of French bread.
* Or you can use shredded Canadian Colby or Gouda cheese.
