Ricotta and Brocolis Naan Pizza

Ingredients

  • 1 ¼ cups (300 ml) Canadian ricotta cheese (or Canadian cottage cheese)
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) lemon juice
  • 2 tsp (10 ml) honey
  • Black pepper
  • 2 tsp (20 g) Canadian butter
  • 1 large broccoli crown, cut into small florets
  • Salt
  • ¼ tsp (1 pinch) garlic powder
  • 2 commercial naan breads (original or roasted garlic)
  • ½ t. (120 ml) sun-dried tomatoes
  • Spicy oil
  • Optional
  • A few finely chopped basil leaves for decoration

Preparation

Combine ricotta (or cottage cheese), lemon juice, honey and a generous amount of cracked black pepper in a bowl and whisk until light and creamy. Set aside.


Heat half the butter in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, add broccoli florets; cook, uncovered, for 1 minute. Cover and continue cooking, lifting the lid to stir every 2 minutes to prevent burning, until the vegetables are tender, about 7 to 8 minutes total. Season with salt and garlic powder. Set aside.


Melt the other half of the butter in a cast-iron skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, toast the naan bread, about 1 minute on each side. Repeat with the other naan bread, adding more butter if necessary after each bread.

Assembly

Spread the whipped cheese mixture evenly over each naan bread.

Top with broccoli and sun-dried tomatoes.

Garnish with a drizzle of hot oil and chopped fresh basil.
