The Welcome Dip
My sister-in-law first shared this recipe with me as a way to welcome me into the family. It’s a dish that symbolizes connection and community, and this is why I’m proud to share it with others. It’s one of my favourite dishes to make when we have family, neighbours and friends visiting our farm. Rich and flavourful, this dip is a taste of everything our farm stands for, and is a testament to the passion and pride we take in helping to feed Canadians across the country. – Karen P., AB

Preparation
In medium bowl, stir together cream cheese, sour cream and mayonnaise until thoroughly blended. Spread mixture into 11 x 7-inch (28 x 18 cm) serving dish.
Pour the seafood sauce on top and spread into even layer. Arrange shrimp over seafood sauce. Top with mozzarella cheese. Layer with green pepper, tomato and then green onions.
Cover and chill for a minimum of 20 minutes or until ready to serve. Serve with a variety of chips, crackers and/or crudités for the best dipping experience.
Tips
If desired, use 2 cups (500 mL) fresh shrimp, cooked and chopped. For a dramatic presentation, arrange layers in a clear serving dish or, alternatively, layer in individual clear serving cups. Cucumber, bell pepper, carrot, celery, snap peas and broccoli all make excellent choices for the crudités.
