President

Pierre Lampron is President of Dairy Farmers of Canada (DFC) and has been a dairy farmer since 1987 in the Mauricie region of the province of Quebec.

With his brothers and son, Pierre Lampron owns an organic dairy farm with 200 cows and 1,200 acres of crops.

First elected to the Board of Directors of the Producteurs de lait du Quebec in 2000, Pierre was appointed to the Board of Directors of Dairy Farmers of Canada (DFC) in 2007. Pierre was elected president of DFC in July 2017 and re-elected for a third term in July 2021.

In February 2023, Pierre Lampron was elected second vice-president of the Canadian Federation of Agriculture. At the national level, Pierre led proAction’s Animal Care committee since its establishment and has participated in the DFC promotion committee for a decade, from 2007 to 2017. In addition, he was a member of the Executive Committee of the Canadian Animal Health Coalition and served on the Board of Directors of the National Farmed Animal Health and Welfare Council. Pierre Lampron is also active at the provincial level, serving on various committees as president of Valacta from 2013 until that organization became Lactanet in 2019. He now serves on Lactanet’s board of directors.

As a leader, Pierre believes that working together enables dairy farmers to achieve their goals and be more successful in advancing their cause. Pierre climbed Mount Kilimanjaro on behalf of DFC in February 2017 and helped raised more than $500,000 for the Tim Hortons Children’s Foundation (Tim Hortons Foundation Camps).

Pierre and his wife Annick have three children, a grandson and a granddaughter.
